Q. What size are the containers?
A. We have two sizes of containers, the standard being 20 feet (20' x 8' x 8'), equivalent to 1280 cubic feet, and the half-size, 10 foot container (10' x 8' x 8'). As a rough guide, a 10' container should hold the contents of an average 1 or 2 bedroom house or flat, anything more and you will need a 20' container.
Q. Are the containers clean and dry?
A. We only buy brand new containers of steel construction. They are sealed against damp but have ventilation to prevent condensation. All containers are kept in excellent condition and cleaned thoroughly before each use.
Q. Do I need to book?
A. It is not always necessary but it is advisable. Make a no-obligation reservation, even if you are not sure what date you will require a container from. We will do our utmost to accommodate you when you need it.
Q. Do I need to bring anything with me?
A. You will need some form of identification - Passport, Driving Licence, a recent utility bill or a business letterhead. We also require a deposit and the first 4 weeks rent.
Q. How do I get my belongings to Low Cost Storage?
A. This is a self-storage service; we do not provide a removals or van hire service. We are, however, happy to recommend local companies that have proved reliable and careful with former customers.
Q. How easy is it to access my container?
A. We offer vehicle access to every unit so, unlike other storage facilities, you can drive right up to the doors of your container for loading and unloading, saving lots of time and energy.
Q. Do I need to sign a lease?
A. No. We ask you to fill in a licence agreement, giving contact details and an invoicing address. It is NOT a lease and can be terminated with 48 hours notice.
Q. Am I tied to a long period?
A. Absolutely not. There is a minimum period of only four weeks. You may, of course vacate within this time but you will not be eligible for a refund.
Q. How do I make future payments?
A. We will send you an invoice every four weeks in advance. Payments can then be made by cash, cheque, bank transfer or, if you're storing on a longer-term basis, consider setting up a standing order.
Q. What do I need to do when I want to vacate my container?
A. We only require 48 hours notice when you want to vacate your container. Any unused storage weeks beyond the four weeks minimum period will be refunded.
Q. Should I insure my belongings whilst in store?
A. Obviously, that is up to you but, for your own peace of mind, please check with your household insurance provider. We have found that most are happy to extend cover to your belongings in storage free of charge because of the security measures we have in place. Our premises are, of course, insured for public liability, etc.
Q. Do I need to bring anything with me?9
A. Please use common sense. Do not store anything toxic, explosive or flammable ie. gas cylinders or fuel, anything perishable i.e. foodstuffs.
Our rental cost are up to 70% less than our rivals!
